Faulkner University is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Assistant/Associate Dean for Academics for the College of Health Sciences. The Assistant/Associate Dean for Academics will work closely with the Dean, serving as a senior member of the leadership team, to exercise administrative oversight for the academic programs within the College of Health Sciences. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberal Arts education, Christian service, and the mission of Faulkner University. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, research and relevant clinical specialist certifications.
Summary of Duties:
- Supervise and support departments in the College in a manner that promotes excellence in instruction, scholarly and creative productivity and service
- Work collaboratively to evaluate and improve educational programs, student experiences and the learning environment
- Provide leadership in the admissions and recruitment process
- Develop innovative models to attract, admit, retain and graduate a highly qualified, diverse and mission-fit student body
- Ensure academic programs meet or exceed accreditation standards
- Facilitate the integration of academics with the clinics and other service arms
- Oversee the development of and direct efforts related to formal professional development of faculty; promote and support faculty research and interdepartmental research
- Participate in writing, revising, implementing, and assessing the College's strategic plan
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a faculty member
Qualifications:
- Terminal degree required in a health science area
- Five years or more experience in higher education, preferably graduate health science education
- Two years or more of higher education administrative experience, such as department chair or program director
- Experience in accreditation, curricular development, faculty evaluation and/or strategic planning preferred
- Active member of the church of Christ, preferred
