Faulkner University is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Dean for the Harris College of Business and Executive Education. The individual selected must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberals Arts education, Christian service, and the mission of Faulkner University. The successful candidate will be instrumental in planning, directing, coordinating, and montitoring the operations of the College. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with churches of Christ.
This is a full-time (40+ hours per week), 12-month position. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, administrative experience and teaching experience.
The review of applications will begin December 5, 2022. This position is scheduled to begin June 1, 2023.
Summary of Duties include:
- Teach one course each in both Fall and Spring semesters to support the academic programs of the institution
- Oversee all academic, administrative and budgetary operations for the College
- Assist the Vice President for Academic Affairs in recruitment, retention, evaluation and professional development of each member of the College
- Provide leadership for the College to create, improve and enhance academic goals
- Collaborate with university entities, both internal and external, to develop and implement effective and creative marketing strategies for the College
- Partner with university officials to achieve compliance for all accreditation matters for the College
- Evaluate curriculum and syllabi; use results of these evaluations, when appropriate, to make changes and improvements to the curriculum; and oversee all catalogs, public relations and other printed materials
- Work cooperatively and effectively with students, faculty, staff and administrators to develop and implement short, interim, and long term academic objectives and plans for obtaining those objectives
- Actively assist the University in pursuing academically related partnerships with the business community and other community constituents
- Assist in the development and administration of the budget for the College
Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in a business field from a traditional daytime AACSB accredited program required
- Minimum of ten years of demonstrated teaching and academic experience at a baccalaureate or higher degree granting institution required
- Undergraduate "on-ground, in-class" teaching experience required
- Minimum three years as Department Chair/Director preferred
- A record of teaching, research, and scholarly achievement commensurate with appointment preferred
- Active member of the church of Christ
